The 5K Family Recovery Run/Walk event is a run/walk in Mechanicsburg to raise awareness of substance use disorders and recovery for the whole family. Our mission is to help families impacted by a loved one’s active substance use and families who have had a substance-related loss. We aim to help, heal, and strengthen families in our communities by offering education, compassionate support, and by creating a nurturing atmosphere for those dealing with a loved one’s substance use or experiencing a substance-related loss.
The 5k Family Recovery Run/Walk will take place at Vibrant Church/Adventure Park on Saturday, October 7th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at 1775 Lambs Gap Rd, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050 and we are operating under a 501c3.
During this run/walk we will be raising money for Sara’s House of Hope. The money raised from this event will go toward our mission to strengthen our community with education, support, and to provide a nurturing atmosphere for those who are experiencing grief and loss. We have opened a Family Recovery Center in April, which encompasses all things Family recovery, raising awareness and providing education on the epidemic our community is facing.
So far we have raised $11,400 towards our $12,000 target! That’s 95% of the total!
